A part of the Terex Group, a United States based conglomerate of more than 50 companies that is currently one of the three largest suppliers of construction, mining and highway paving equipment in the world. Considered by the group to be a strategically important unit for heavy investment in Latin America, the Cachoeirinha based company sells the best internationally recognized technology and offers advantages in terms of cost-benefit and profitability for construction work.
Under the leadership of commander Clemente Cifali, the company was responsible for the installation of Brazil's first asphalt plant manufactured, in the 1960s. Mindful of the development of highways in the country, Cifali installed equipment to resurface the stretch between Caxias do Sul and Novo Petrópolis. Cifali grew and in 2001 associated itself with CMI Corporation of Oklahoma (USA), a subsidiary of the Terex Group's Roadbuilding division.
Conglomerate
The United States based conglomerate brings together more than 50 companies in many countries on all five continents, and employs more than 17,000 people. For more than 50 years, Terex has manufactured equipment for construction, cranes, aerial platforms, mining and highway construction. It product portfolio includes everything from light towers to asphalt plants; from backhoe loaders to 2,000 ton cranes; from aerial platforms to mining trucks. In short, a wide range of tools for all types of construction and industrial maintenance.
In 2002, Terex incorporated Genie's operations, present in Brazil since 1999. This acquisition led to the birth of Terex Latin America, the unit that administers the Terex Group's business on the Latin American continent.
Terex RB Latin America
Terex Roadbuilding Latin America is the holder of the most important technology in the paving sector for the Latin America market. The Rio Grande do Sul plant manufactures equipment for highway construction and repair. It is a leader in the asphalt plant and paver markets, and also produces multiflex plants and milling machines, serving the domestic market and with a growing presence in exports as well, especially to Latin America, Europe and Africa.
In addition to the products it manufactures in Brazil, it also sells, in the markets it is active in, the enormous variety of products that the Terex Group manufactures all over the world, while also providing technical support and specialized services through its network of dealers and local technical assistance centers.

Our investments in quality - recognized by the 2009 Rio Grande do Sul Quality award - have the main objective of surpassing client expectations. At the same time, they ensure us important recognition within the Terex Group. In 2008, Terex Roadbuilding Latin America was considered Terex Roadbuilding's best division and one of the Terex Group's best in the world, both in terms of growth and financial performance.
